Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Potential Tutorial (“we”, “us”) collects when you use PaperGenie on papergenie.in or in the PaperGenie mobile app (together, the “Service”), how we use it and the choices you have. By using the Service you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

• Account details: your name, mobile number (used for one-time-password login), and your email address and profile picture if you sign in with Google.
• Institute and paper details you enter: institute name, logo, watermark, paper titles, exam details, saved drafts and the papers you generate.
• Purchases: the plans you buy, amount, date and payment reference. Payments are processed by our payment partner Razorpay; we do not receive or store your card, UPI PIN or net-banking password.
• Usage and device information: pages and features used, IP address, device and browser type and app version, used to keep the Service secure and working.

2. How we use it

• To create and secure your account and log you in (including sending OTPs).
• To provide the Service: show your board, classes and subjects, generate papers and PDFs, save drafts.
• To process payments, activate plans and send receipts or service messages.
• To answer support requests, prevent misuse and fraud, and improve the Service.
• To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

3. Sharing

We share information only with service providers who help us run the Service, and only as needed: Razorpay (payments), Google (sign-in), SMS/WhatsApp message providers (OTPs and service messages) and our hosting provider. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect our rights and users.

4. Storage and retention

• Data is stored on secure servers. We use HTTPS encryption for data in transit.
• Generated paper PDFs are kept for about 10 days and then deleted automatically; the list of papers you made may remain in your account history.
• Account, purchase and draft data are kept while your account is active. Payment records are kept as long as tax and accounting laws require.

5. Your choices and rights

• You can view and update your details in your account, and edit or delete your drafts.
• You can ask for a copy of your data, correction, or deletion of your account. See Delete Account. We complete deletion requests within 30 days, except records we must keep by law (such as payment invoices).

6. Children

The Service is meant for teachers, schools and institutes. It is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

7. Cookies

The website uses essential cookies to keep you signed in and remember your selections. You can block cookies in your browser, but some features may stop working.

8. Changes

We may update this policy. The new version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Important changes will be shown in the app or on the website.
